Like an axe cut across the landscape Utladalen inward Jotunheimen , and here you will find the starting point for a mountain hike you will never forget.
"It's really nothing to be fooled about. Pack your bags and get out for a walk," say Kurt and Janne Jevnaker, who are full of praise for the trip they took a few weeks ago.

The route starts high up in the mountains at Sognefjellshytta on Sognefjellet, following a good and marked path to Skogadalsbøen Tourist hut, then continue over Friken and downhill Utladalen against Vetti Gard in Upper Årdal .
- This is the trip to go on in the fall
- The hike starts in easy terrain at Sognefjellshytta. The view you get when you start walking down the valley towards Skogadalsbøen is fantastically beautiful. We stopped at a small seat with a view of Skogadalsbøen , and it was just completely magical to sit down and enjoy the packed lunch there while the sun's rays shone in the blink of an eye. This is the trip to go now this autumn, says Kurt enthusiastically.
Kurt and Janne stayed overnight at Skogadalsbøen Tourist cabin, and I can say that they were well received by the hosts and staff there.
- The Southerner on Skogadalsbøen is very good, and it was lovely to arrive at a great shower facility after a somewhat rainy trip. Skogadalsbøen is a well-maintained DNT cabin with a brilliant atmosphere, and it was a luxury to be able to sit down with a cold summer beer from Tya Brewery when we arrived, says Janne.
Vettisfossen

The next day they continue their journey across Friken and down. Utladalen against Vetti Gard On the way they stopped at the lookout point above Vettisfossen - which is an impressive sight.
- The landscape on this trip is varied and spectacular, regardless of the weather. It was a fantastic experience for us! The trail is also so good that it is easy to walk even though it was both wet and muddy the days we were on the trip, but investing in good shoes is probably absolutely necessary before setting out on this trip, says Kurt.
Kurt and Janne took about 4 hours from Sognefjellshytta to Skogadalsbøen and about 5 hours from Skogadalsbøen to Vetti Gard At Vetti Gard you can stay overnight every day until September 9th, and every weekend until Sunday September 23rd. Skogadalsbøen Turisthytte closes for the season on Sunday September 16th.
Take advantage of the opportunity before the season is over and go on a hike in a rare mountain area!
