Kayaking on the Sognefjord - all year round
IN Årdal Bulder & Brak Opplevingar offers guided kayak tours and paddling courses that qualify for a wet card from the Norwegian Paddling Association. You can join a half-day trip, a full-day trip, a family trip in a tandem kayak or a multi-day trip with accommodation in a lavvo. You can also take an introductory ocean course (3-4 hours) or a basic ocean course (16 hours).

Fjord cruise with historical thrills
At the end of July 2019 , M/B Tya finally arrived at Årdalstangen after extensive restoration at Ornes Båtbyggeri. The beautiful veteran boat in the "Riva style" was once built at Bjørke Båtbyggeri in Rosendal in Hardanger. The boat has teak, mahogany, Oregon pine and oak wood, and sailed for the first time into Årdalsfjorden in March 1952. After extensive restoration at Ornes Båtbyggeri in Luster, the boat is now ready to sail into Årdalsfjorden again. The boat has been restored back to its original colors with a white hull and green roof. The boat will be berthed at Meierihopen Gjestehamn, and Årdal Sjøfront AS will, among other things, offer fjord cruises for tourists and groups who want a unique experience on the Sognefjord in a boat with a lot of history.
It was Årdal and Sunndal Verk who first bought the boat as a representation and ambulance boat. Since then the boat has had many owners and been used for many purposes. Now, almost 50 years later, Årdal Sjøfront AS took ownership of the boat, and the intention is that it will be put into service as a tour boat for tourists and groups as early as the end of July/beginning of August. The boat can accommodate 12 passengers.
Price for standard route Årdalstangen - Indre Ofredal : NOK 500,- (the trip will be scheduled on dates where we have ships available)
