Day 1: Hjelle - Vetti Gard :
Arrival Hjelle and a tour of Utladalen Nature Center 's exhibition about the West Jotunheimen and Utladalen Landscape conservation area. Hike along Folkevegen to Vetti Gard (takes about 1 hour), for dinner, socializing and overnight stay.
Day 2: Day trip with Utladalen as a starting point
You can go hiking in the mountains with or without a guide. Utladalen as a starting point. The guide will meet at Vetti Gard for breakfast to review the route for the day. There are several great hikes to go from Vetti Gard :

1) Vetti Gard - Vettismorki - Hjelledalen - Hjelle
Time required: about 8 hours
The hike is demanding, with a steep climb from Vetti to Vettismorki. The hike further towards Hjelledalen is in hilly terrain with some climbing. You can also choose to hike the other way, starting at Hjelle .
Parts of the trip are in marshy and steep terrain, so good shoes are important.

2) Vetti Gard - Vettisfossen viewpoint - Vettismorki - Vetti Gard
Vettisfossen is an impressive sight from the top, with water in free fall for a total of 275 m. The hike is moderate in difficulty, and can be completed by most people. Time required: approx. 4 hours round trip.

3) Vetti Gard - Stølsmaradalen - Avdalen Gard
Time required: about 6-8 hours
The trip from Vetti Gard is demanding with a steep climb from the Utla River and all the way up to Stølsmaradalen The route then continues over hilly terrain towards Utladalen , before dropping steeply down towards Avdalen Gard The hike goes through marshes and steep terrain, so good shoes are important.

The trip from Vetti Gard via Stølsmaradalen to Hjelle includes a stop at the idyllic Avdalen Gard . Fjellgarden Avdalen Gard has been restored and offers accommodation and dining throughout the summer season, surrounded by beautiful cultural landscapes. For example, you can request a venison stew with a good drink upon arrival, which tastes fantastic after a 6-8 hour hike high above Utladalen .

After a nice stop in Avdalen, the tour continues to Hjelle for transportation to Tya Bar , which is located in the center of Øvre Årdal . Tya Bar gives you a complete bar experience with a focus on good craft beer brewed at Tya Bryggeri in the neighboring premises, football and shuffleboard . Tya Bar offers its own beer tasting programs - often in combination with tastings of local food from Sogn.
Hotel Klingenberg

A long and eventful day should end with some comfort and a good bed, so a night at Klingenberg Hotel is next on the agenda. A 3-course dinner at Strondi restaurant ensures that you don't have to go to bed hungry, and if you want, you can relax with a nice drink in the hotel garden with a beautiful view of the Sognefjord.

Paddling on Årdalsvatnet
After a good night's sleep and a long breakfast at Klingenberg Hotel, you are always ready for new experiences. You can choose to go hiking again, go fishing or take a guided kayak tour on either Årdalsfjorden or Årdalsvatnet. You get close to both the landscape and wildlife in a kayak, and you get to see the mountains from an impressive angle.
